On August 25th, China's longest-serving ambassador, Liu Xiaoming, will personally visit the island city to deliver an exciting lecture!

Ambassador Liu Xiaoming, who has the longest tenure as the Chinese Ambassador to the UK in the history of Sino-British relations and the longest tenure as a Chinese diplomat in the history of our country, has personally experienced the "Golden Age" of Sino-British relations and has made positive contributions to promoting cooperation in various fields between China and the UK.

He actively carried out public diplomacy, told China's story well and conveyed China's voice through various opportunities and channels, including speeches, articles and interviews, in a three-in-one model. Over the past 11 years, he has delivered more than 700 speeches, written more than 170 articles in mainstream newspapers and been interviewed more than 170 times by mainstream media in Britain. Nearly all British daily newspapers have published his articles and all mainstream television and radio stations have interviewed him. He has been called the "most camera-friendly" and "most quoted" foreign ambassador in Britain by the British public and diplomatic circles.

Tell China's story well, focus on history but value the present more. 

During the interactive session of the report meeting, Ambassador Liu Xiaoming will provide detailed answers to questions on how to tell China's story well and promote cultural exchanges between China and the UK, among other issues of concern to everyone. 

Born out of the beautiful vision of "Chinese culture, world communication", the "Tell China's Story in English" event started in January 2020 and has been implemented in more than 30 cities across the country. The four events have attracted more than 1.1 million teenagers to participate, including more than 6,000 foreign students studying in China from 135 countries and regions. The aim is to implement the "Enhance the dissemination and influence of Chinese civilization, adhere to the standpoint of Chinese culture, tell China's story well, spread China's voice well, show a credible, lovely and respectable image of China, and promote Chinese culture to the world" proposed by the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Through English recitation, creative speech, drama monologue and Chinese talent forms, it provides a platform for the majority of teenagers to promote the excellent culture of China and communicate with the world, fully displaying the fruitful achievements of quality education in various places and the international Chinese education of foreign students studying in China.
